It stands at a massive 100cm, or approx 3.2 feet tall! That's over a foot taller than a normal Jumbo Machinder!
I don't know much about the Kyuukyoku Zoukei series, but it seems as though they are huge, high-end pre-painted model kits. (Someone please correct and educate me if I'm wrong.) But, maybe I shouldn't say "high-end", because that indicates a certainly level of quality. Perhaps I should just say "expensive".
Granted, I can't really speak to the quality of this series since I've never seen one in person, but just looking at this Mazinger, it has issues.
The proportions seem sorely off. Legs and forearms are too thin. The head is too large and cartoonish (and not in a good way). And it lacks a certain detail that companies like Bandai are able to get into their Mazinger figures, even with Mazinger having a fairly sleek and simplistic design.
The one place that the piece does look fantastic is in the sculpt of the head-- despite the fact that it appears over-sized-- and the Hover Pilder/Jet Pilder.
So, the price of this piece? A staggering Y 105,000. That's currently about $1,060 bucks. I love me some Mazinga-- he's definitely my favorite Japanese robot-- but I don't love him that much. And definitely not looking the way this piece does. To be honest, other than the size, it just isn't impressing me.
